Sprigs is a wallpaper designed exclusively for Domestic Science, reimagined from an original 1930s French chintz fabric discovered by founder Libs Nicholls. Influenced by traditional Indienne textiles, its scattered tulips, cornflowers, trumpet creeper, forget-me-nots and asters have been carefully reworked, simplified and given more room to breathe, creating a relaxed floral wallpaper with a natural sense of movement.

In Pumice, the soft, stony neutral ground lets the delicate florals and their colours come gently to the fore. Calm and understated, the larger-scale pattern brings interest to bedrooms, hallways and living spaces while sitting easily alongside old furniture, natural textures and collected pieces.

Digitally printed in the UK on tactile, matt FSC-certified non-woven paper. Available in six colourways and in the smaller-scale Sprigs Piccolo wallpaper.

Wallpaper FAQs

To get an accurate quote, it's recommended to have a qualified decorator measure your space before finalising your order.

MEASURING GUIDE:

  • Multiply the Height x Width of each wall to get the total meter squared.
  • Measure each wall individually, if you are measuring multiple walls be sure to add the totals together.
  • Round up and add 10% for wastage.

Roll usage can depend on the pattern repeat of your chosen wallpaper so we always recommend to over-estimate so that you have enough to complete your project. Domestic Science is not liable for any surplus or shortage in the number of rolls of wallpaper that you purchase.

We advise that a professional be used when hanging non-woven wallpaper. The instructions can be found below:

PREPARATION

  • Walls should be dry, clean, and even.
  • Remove any old wallpaper and loose paint.
  • Roughen painted surfaces with sandpaper.

For best results, walls should be cross lined using a good quality lining paper. Sizing the lining paper will aid adhesion. Lining should be allowed to dry out completely before hanging the wall covering.

PASTING AND HANGING YOUR NON-WOVEN WALL COVERINGS

  • This is a paste the wall product. The decorator should paste the wall and not the back of the wall covering.
  • A good quality, solvent free, fungicide protected ready-mixed ‘tub’ adhesive – specifically for paste the wall non-woven papers should be used.
  • Paste should be evenly applied to the wall to hang one length at a time, to an area slightly wider than width of the paper.
  • Butt joints and use a decorator’s brush to smooth down the wall covering, working from the centre to the edges to express air bubbles.
  • Avoid squeezing paste out of the joints and ensure paste does not get onto the brush or roller.
  • No paste should be allowed to come into contact with the surface and hands should be kept clean and dry whilst hanging the wall covering.
  • Paste will damage the surface. The company cannot accept responsibility for marks or damage caused by paste.
  • Should any paste have been allowed to come into contact with the surface, it should be lightly sponged whilst still moist, using a clean damp sponge.
  • Our wallpaper collection is made to order, please allow up to 3 weeks for your order to be printed and delivered.
  • To avoid slight colour differences between each batch, please ensure that you order the correct number of rolls required.
  • To help minimise waste, all wallpaper is made to order, therefore can only accept refunds on faulty wallpaper.
  • Please use our sampling service to ensure you are happy with the colour, design and pattern size before purchasing.
  • Printed in the UK on FSC certified non-woven substrate.
  • Digital printing allows for made-to-order production, eliminating minimum order quantities and reducing waste.
  • The inks used to print our wallpaper are HP Latex eco-friendly water-based, which means they are non-toxic and very low in VOCs (volatile organic compounds). HP latex inks are free from Cadmium, Chromium, Mercury, Lead (tested to >0.2ppm) or Formaldehyde.
