Japanese brand Puebco is a bit like marmite, we at DS love it but if you’re in the not too sure camp; we hope that we can change your mind. Established in 2007 by Hirotaka Tanaka, PUBECO creates functional and fun lifestyle objects and items from recycled, upcycled and reclaimed materials that will fit seamlessly into your daily life.

PUBECO

Each piece has an intention, a history and a story of a past life. This may be recycled plastic cables or military parachute fabric. PUEBCO aesthetic is utilitarian, industrial, sometimes minimalist, sometimes kitsch and always fun. Contrast and texture play key roles in their brand identity and their packaging is nothing short of perfection. Think recycled (of course!) simple and functional.

As well as being aesthetically pleasing, the brand is ecologically sound. Materials are being recycled and given another life whilst you are getting to upgrade everyday items, such as a shopping tote, blanket, photo frame and bath mat to name a few.

The simplicity of the PUEBCO brand is one aspect that makes it stand out, it doesn’t have one specific aesthetic however often items are pared back, kitsch and humorous.

PUEBCO is a brand that we go back to time and time again, that makes us giddy with excitement when a new order comes in through the doors.
