Skandinavisk’s story started when an inquisitive English chap named Shaun travelled to Sweden, fell in love with a beautiful blonde Scandinavian gardener and never left. Joining forces with a Danish designer and second English immigrant the trio created Skandinavisk – a stunning range of scented and vegetable wax candles hand poured into painted glass votives. Each candle has a 100% cotton wick, a beautiful engraved beechwood lid.
Skandinavisk candles will fill your home with either earthy, Norwegian aromas evocative of pine needle covered forests walks and crisp sea air or warm notes of amber, mandarin and vanilla; taking us back to cosy Swedish café’s where cardamom buns and coffee are served in abundance to ward off the chill outside. We particularly love the Lempi scent, a blend of rose, strawberries, garden peony and oak moss and who’s name ‘Lempi’ translates in old Finnish as love. This candle is a reminder of days when romance was shameless and we think every home could do with a little bit more of that.

We stock the whole range which includes the following scents:
SKOG [SKOWG], Norwegian/Swedish for ‘forest’. Boreal forests cover half of Scandinavia stretching unbroken from the far south to the Arctic Circle. With impressions of pine and fir, aged leather and woodland lily of the valley.
HAV [HOW], Nordic for ‘sea’. The endless coastlines of Scandinavia are surrounded by the cold waters of the North Atlantic, Baltic and Arctic seas. Infused with notes of water flora, driftwood, sea froth and fresh air.
HYGGE [HU-GAH] is Danish DNA, a reflection of the Scandinavian art of creating intimacy, fellowship and cosiness in the smallest everyday moments. With echoes of tea and baked strawberry cake, rose petals and wild mint.
KOTO [KO-TO], the traditional Finnish word for ‘cosy at home’. A refuge from the rugged Nordic climate, an intimate space to refresh the soul. KOTO blends delicate notes of Baltic amber and schersmin with exotic mandarin and vanilla.
LEMPI [LEM-PE], old Finnish for love. In the days when love was shamelessly romantic and best savoured in black and white. A timeless blend of rose and strawberries, garden peony and oak moss.
Ö [URR], silken lakes, secluded islands, silent forests. Memories of rowing to a deserted island, the slippery touch of damp rock moss underfoot, and the fragrant green embrace of dog-rose and crabapples.
