These beautiful pressed grasses were collected in Sweden by a local lady on her hikes around the countryside c1900's. Pressed flower collections were a popular pursuit for ladies in the Victorian and Edwardian times, each portfolio displaying their collection of treasured specimens.
Dating from 1905, each pressed botanical specimen comes in its original state complete with a hand-scribed nameplate documenting the species, botanical family, location and date - making these incredibly rare, delicate and unique pieces of art for your wall.
Exquisitely set in a hand-crafted 'Bobbin' frame which has been made exclusively for Domestic Science and carefully finished with a coat of Farrow and Ball's Sudbury Yellow paint.
You will receive the original framed specimen; not a print or reproduction. As each framed grass specimen is over 100 years old so the paper may be brittle in places, show discolouration and due to age and delicacy elements of the botanical grasses may be missing or slightly damaged.
