Chuckleberry JamRegular price £5.00 Save £-5.00
This jam is made from a newly discovered berry, the Chuckleberry, which is a cross between a redcurrant, gooseberry and jostaberry (the jostaberry itself being a goosberry/blackcurrant cross). The berry looks similar to a blackcurrant and produces high yields of flavourful, pretty berries in mid-July, lending itself to wonderful red jams and jellies.
A little bit about London Borough of Jam. After spending 5 years as a pastry chef, founder Lillie O’Brien established London Borough of Jam in 2011, which has gone from strength to strength. LBJ preserves are made in small batches and cooked for a shorter time compared to other jams. The flavour is honest and unadulterated; it is fruit-driven, rather than sugar-driven. When tasting LBJ preserves you will always taste the fruit first followed by the sugar and a special complimentary flavour. LBJ use natural, unrefined sugars and no commercial pectins. LBJ preserves contain no more than 4 ingredients and are dairy free & vegan.
The preserves combine seasonal fruits – sourced in the UK, France, Italy and Spain – such as Victoria Plums, Greengages, Raspberries, Rhubarb and Seville Oranges with a variety of unusual additions. Try starting your day with a dollop of LBJ on a bowl of hot creamy porridge or a toasted sourdough slice at teatime, plop a spoonful on a scone or use between layers of a cake or for supper serve with cheese and biscuits.
