One of the best dusting brushes we have ever seen at Domestic Science - its a thing of beauty.
Made from beech, the goats hair bristles are secured in place with neat fine wire stitching. Its just the thing for dusting your delicates.
In the late 1900s century a small brush manufacturing company -IRIS HANTWERK started out in Stockholm. It was such a successful movement it is still in operation today. Now, as then, every brush is made by hand by visually impaired craftsmen. The "Iris" in the company name refers to the coloured part of the eye.
Their work brings new dimensions to the concept of items sensitively made by hand. The visually impaired craftsmen from different cultures make brushes according to an old Swedish tradition. The company also works with visually impaired craftsmen in Estonia, who also have a history strongly connected to the visual impairments movement.
